A Seneca County resident was surprised to find a person sleeping in their car Wednesday morning.
Jeffrey Peterson, Junior, of Syracuse, was found sleeping in a Town of Covert resident’s car shortly after 7 o’clock. Peterson took off from the scene but was quickly located by the Sheriff’s Office.
The 35-year-old was taken into custody without incident and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was transported to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center where he was held for CAP Court.
An Order of Protection was requested for the victim.
