A traffic stop for speeding on Interstate 490 in Victor Saturday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a Syracuse man.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Lonnie Spruiel was clocked at going 101 miles per hour in a posted 65 miles per hour zone, in below freezing conditions, on a suspended driver’s license. His 14-year-old daughter was also in the backseat, which resulted in a charge of endangering the welfare of a child. The passenger fo the car was the only authorized person on the rental agreement and had a valid New York State license.
Spruiel was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Victor Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
