Syracuse Man Accused of Giving Penn Yan Police a False Name

SHARE NOW

The investigation into an incident in the village of Penn Yan resulted in the arrest of a Syracuse man.

While police were on the complaint, they located a man hiding in a closet within the home. The man initially provided officers with a false name before officers found a Corrections Identification Card in his pocket that did not match the name given. The man later confirmed to police the name on the identification card was him, Kawonjamin Felton, and that he had given the false name because he had a warrant out for his arrest. Police had previously found by checking the name on the identification that Felton was wanted by New York State Parole in Syracuse.

Felton was taken into custody and charged with criminal impersonation and was turned over to the New York State Parole on the parole warrant.
