A Steuben County woman was arrested following a traffic stop in the village of Penn Yan.
Susan Ralston, of Urbana, was stopped by Penn Yan Police after they reported observing her car operating erratically on Liberty Street and failing to maintain her lane. A traffic stop was initiated on Elm Street and the operator was identified as Ralston by her license. Ralston was placed through standardized field sobriety tests, which she failed.
Ralston was placed under arrest for DWI and transported for an evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert. She was then transported back to Penn Yan where she submitted to a blood draw.
Ralston was subsequently issued tickets for DWI Common Law and Failure to Keep Right. Additional charges are pending laboratory results.
