A Steuben County man faces felony charges after he allegedly used another person’s benefits card that was issued by the Steuben County Department of Social Services.
30-year-old Brandon Bradford, of Bath, is accused of receiving benefits that he was not entitled to, nor authorized to receive as a result.
Bradford is charged with misuse of food stamps, petit larceny, and criminal possession of stolen property, a felony. He was also found to have two active bench warrants out of the City of Corning Court.
Bradford was held at the Steuben County Jail for arraignment in CAP Court.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Steuben County Department of Social Services Fraud and Legal Affairs Unit, the City of Corning Police Department, the Village of Bath Police Department, and the District Attorney’s Office.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
