A Steuben County man was charged with four felonies following the completion of a joint investigation conducted by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Social Services, and the District Attorney’s Office.
It is alleged that from April 1st of 2024 to December 31, 2024, Ryan Deisher, of Hornell, offered a false instrument for filing to the Department of Social Services and received $3,909 in benefits that he was not eligible to receive.
Deisher is charged with offering a false instrument for filing, falsifying business records, welfare fraud, and grand larceny, all felonies.
Following his arraignment, Deisher was released on appearance tickets.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
