A Hornell man has been charged with felony assault following an investigation by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department.
It is alleged that 22-year-old Joel Burdett assaulted another person with a baseball bat while in the town of Hornellsville.
Following his arraignment, Burdett was released to appear in court at a later date.
It was not disclosed if the victim in the alleged attack suffered any injuries.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
