A Steuben County father and son have both been charged with felony assault following the investigation into an alleged incident that happened over the weekend.
According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department, 48-year-old Herbert Barber and 22-year-old Dakota Barber were charged following an altercation and assault that happened in the town of Cameron. It is alleged that both men struck and kicked another person causing serious physical injury to the victim.
Both men, who reside in Cameron, were charged with felony assault in the second degree and the elder Barber was charged with resisting arrest.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
