Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck reports the arrest of a Sterling woman following a domestic incident on August 18.
Deputies say they were dispatched around 8:38 p.m. to a residence in the Town of Sterling after a third-party caller reported a physical domestic dispute in progress. When deputies arrived, they found a male with injuries and determined that 49-year-old Tina Goodluck had allegedly been involved in an altercation with him.
Goodluck, who was located on the property with her minor child, was barred from being there under an active stay-away order of protection. She was taken into custody and charged with first-degree criminal contempt and endangering the welfare of a child.
Both adults involved were evaluated at Auburn Community Hospital for minor injuries. Goodluck was then processed at the Cayuga County Public Safety Building, where the Auburn Police executed an additional outstanding warrant. She was later arraigned and remanded to the county jail.
Agencies assisting in the investigation included New York State Police, the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office, Child Protective Services, Victory Fire, Lakeshore Ambulance, and Fair Haven Ambulance.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
