On March 8, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Sterling woman following a motor vehicle accident in the Village of Fair Haven.
Deputies responded to Main Street around 3:37 a.m. for a report of an SUV that had exited the northern shoulder of the roadway and struck a utility pole. The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as Grace Paige, 30.
Following an investigation into the crash, deputies determined that Paige was allegedly driving while intoxicated. She was transported to the Public Safety Building for processing, where she reportedly provided a breath sample of .18% or higher.
Paige was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (First Offense), Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, and other traffic infractions. She was released with uniform traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Sterling Court on March 25.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
