The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Sodus woman following a domestic investigation.
Deputies say 35-year-old Catherine Chido is charged with third-degree Assault, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child under 17.
Investigators allege Chido assaulted a child while two other minors were present and obstructed the child’s breathing by applying pressure to the throat.
Chido was taken into custody, transported to the Sheriff’s Office, and then held at the Wayne County Jail pending CAP Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
