A 27-year-old Sodus man is facing multiple charges after a domestic incident that occurred in front of a child.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports that Thomas Babcock, of Ridge Road, was arrested following an investigation into a domestic disturbance in the Town of Sodus.
Deputies allege that Babcock had unwanted physical contact with the victim while a child under the age of 17 was present. He is also accused of preventing the victim from calling 911 by taking the phone from their hand during the incident.
Babcock has been charged with:
- Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree
- Harassment in the Second Degree
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child
He will appear in Sodus Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
