The investigation into a larceny that occurred in the town of Sodus resulted in the Sunday night arrest of a 24-year-old Sodus man.
Esteban Martinez allegedly had a bench warrant out for his arrest issued by the Rochester Police Department for the original charge of criminal possession of a weapon. Martinez was arrested on the warrant and was additionally charged with one count of resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.
The additional charges stem from the investigation regarding the bench warrant issued for Martinez’s arrest. It is alleged he attempted to run from sheriff’s deputies after being informed about the Rochester bench warrant. Martinez was subsequently arrested following a foot pursuit and was brought to the Wayne County Jail.
Martinez was released on an appearance ticket on the additional charges. He was then extradited to the City of Rochester on the warrant after being turned over to the Rochester Police Department.
Martinez will appear in Sodus Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
