A Shortsville woman was taken into custody this week on a bench warrant related to a drug charge.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, 40-year-old Heather White was arrested on Wednesday around 3:00 p.m. The warrant, issued by Farmington Town Court, stems from a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
White was transported to the Ontario County Jail, where she was held for arraignment.
White is scheduled to return to Farmington Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
