A Shortsville man was arrested late Sunday night after deputies say he was driving under the influence of drugs in the Town of Naples.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, 65-year-old Steven Lambert was stopped around 11:59 p.m. on Sunday near the intersection of State Route 245 and Parish Road. Deputies determined Lambert was impaired by drugs and took him into custody.
During the investigation, deputies say Lambert was also found in possession of five pills not stored in a prescription bottle. The pills were identified as a Schedule II controlled substance.
Lambert was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, several traffic violations, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
He was issued appearance tickets and released. Lambert is scheduled to appear in Naples Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
