The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has released information on a 29-year-old Sennett man being arrested following an investigation into contraband at the Cayuga County Jail.
An investigation started last month after receiving allegations that Jamerlee Jones was unlawfully in possession of contraband while incarcerated. Following the investigation, deputies established probable cause and arrested Jones for Promoting Prison Contraband in the Second Degree.
Jones was issued an appearance ticket for Sennett Town Court, where he was arraigned. He is currently being held at the Cayuga County Jail on unrelated charges.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
