A Seneca Falls man was arrested over the weekend on warrants that were issued almost two decades ago respectively for multiple counts of sex offender registry violations.
In 2006, a warrant was issued for John Figueroa’s arrest for a felony charge of failure to mail a verification form in 10 days. The following year, warrants were issued for misdemeanor charges of a Level 1 or Level 2 sex offender failing to provide a photo, failing to update address annually, and failing to report an address change in ten days.
Figueroa was brought to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
According to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, Figueroa was convicted in 1999 of having sex with a 13-year-old girl. He was sentenced to nine months in jail and six years of probation.
