Seneca Falls Man Arrested After He Strangled, Hit in the Face, and Bit Women’s Fingers

On February 15, 2025, the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department arrested Joseph A. Davis, age 56, of Seneca Falls, NY. The arrest stems from a domestic incident that occurred in the early morning hours where Davis showed up intoxicated, unannounced to the victim’s residence. Despite being told numerous times to leave, Davis failed to listen and engaged in a physical altercation with the victim where placed both of his hands around the victim’s neck and began to strangle her, struck her in the face with a closed hand, and bit her fingers. Davis was charged with Reckless Endangerment in the first degree, a class D Felony, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, an A Misdemeanor, and Harassment in the first degree, a B Misdemeanor. Additionally, Davis having been charged with a qualifying offense within the preceding five years was charged with Aggravated Family Offense, an E Felony. Davis was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility where he will await arraignment.
