On Sunday, the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office released details regarding several arrests following investigations and traffic stops throughout the county.
Dewayne Tempest of Beaver Dams was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree. The arrest followed an investigation at the Schuyler County Department of Social Services on Owego Street in the Village of Montour Falls. Tempest was issued an appearance ticket for the Village of Montour Falls Court.
On Monday, February 23, 2026, Danielle Griffin of Hornell was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree. The charge followed a traffic stop on State Route 409 in the Town of Dix. Griffin was issued uniform traffic tickets to appear in the Town of Dix Court.
In a separate incident on State Route 14, Erik Cymara of Newfield was arrested following a traffic stop in the Village of Montour Falls. Cymara is accused of Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Blood Alcohol Content of .18% or Greater. He was also cited for multiple vehicle and traffic law violations. Cymara was issued tickets to appear in the Village of Montour Falls Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
