A Savannah man is facing felony drug charges after a traffic stop earlier this year led to the discovery of nearly 28 grams of methamphetamine.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Kevin J. Himes of Prospect Street was arrested following an investigation into the April 2025 incident. Deputies say they initially stopped Himes for a traffic violation, during which they found a crystallized rock-like substance. Lab results later confirmed it was methamphetamine.
Himes has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree, a felony, along with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
Himes was released following his arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
