On Wednesday, Yates County Deputies arrested a Rushville woman following a single-car motor vehicle accident in the Town of Potter.
At approximately 7:35 p.m., deputies responded to the intersection of West Swamp Road and Ferguson Corners Road. Investigators say 66-year-old Joanne Tober failed to navigate a turn, causing her vehicle to exit the roadway and enter a snow-covered ditch.
Upon making contact with Tober, deputies observed multiple signs of intoxication. She was subsequently arrested and transported to the Yates County Jail.
Tober is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, moving from a lane unsafely, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and operating with an unsafe tire. She was held at the jail to await the next session of the Yates County Centralized Arraignment Part Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
