Rushville Woman Arrested on Petit Larceny Charge in Penn Yan

SHARE NOW

Penn Yan Police arrested a Rushville woman following the investigation into a larceny complaint.

It was reported to police on March 31st that an unknown woman had entered a village business and stole several items. Police were called to the same establishment on April 17th when an employee recognized a customer as the same theft suspect. Police met with the suspect, identified as 54-year-old Michelle Lohnes of Rushville, who matched the description of the theft suspect from video surveillance. Lohnes was taken into custody and during an interview with police, she reportedly admitted to stealing from the store.

Lohnes was charged with petit larceny and released on an appearance ticket to appear at Penn Yan Village Court at a later date to answer the charge.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
