A traffic stop on State Routes 5 and 20 in the town of Geneva resulted in the arrest of a Romulus man.
Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a car for failing to keep right. The driver was identified as 25-year-old Thomas Lapp. Further investigation allegedly found that Lapp was driving the car on a public highway in an intoxicated condition.
An inventory search was conducted which resulted in deputies also allegedly finding a loaded Glock 19 handgun with two extended-capacity magazines.
Lapp charged with drunken driving and criminal possession of a weapon was transported to the Ontario County Jail where he is being held pending arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
