The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Romulus man following an incident during a traffic stop early Sunday morning.
Deputies arrested Colten Thompson around 12:15 a.m. in the Town of Romulus. The arrest followed a traffic stop that occurred in the Town of Varick.
Deputies say that while they were attempting to release Thompson on an appearance ticket, he struck a deputy with a door. Thompson was subsequently taken into custody without further incident and charged with harassment and obstructing governmental administration.
He was later released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Romulus Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
