The report of an erratic driver and a possible rolling domestic heading into the village of Bath resulted in the arrest of a Rochester man.
Just after 12:30 Monday afternoon, law enforcement in Steuben County was notified of the vehicle reportedly being driven erratically. Bath Police located the car and made contact with the people inside, who were determined to be having an argument, resulting in the erratic driving. During the investigation, a quantity of Fentanyl was allegedly found with the passenger.
The driver of the car, who was not identified in the news release, was ticketed for driving left of pavement markings and unlicensed operation.
The passenger, 39-year-old Anthony Jackson, of Rochester, was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was turned over to the Rochester Police Department after it was discovered that he had felony warrants out of the city of Rochester.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
