32-year-old Crystal Rosio Mendoza Paulin, of Rochester, was arrested on Thursday at the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office Substation in Eastview Mall.
Sheriff’s deputies charged Mendoza Paulin with petit larceny, third-degree identity theft, first-degree falsifying business records, and second-degree criminal impersonation.
The charges stem from an October 3rd incident at Von Maur, where Mendoza Paulin allegedly stole $436 in merchandise. Deputies say she used another person’s identity and driver’s license during the initial arrest processing.
Following further investigation, Mendoza Paulin cooperated with deputies and turned herself in on to face the new charges. She was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charges in Victor Town Court at a later date.
he fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
