Rochester Woman Accused of Robbery in Seneca County Arrested on Warrant

SHARE NOW

A Rochester woman is facing new charges after repeatedly failing to appear in court for a robbery case in Seneca County.

32-year-old Teeyana Porter was arrested on Monday around 1:30 p.m. by Seneca County Sheriff’s Investigators. Porter is charged with Bail Jumping in the second degree and was also wanted on a bench warrant issued by Tyre Town Court.

Porter had originally been charged with Robbery in the second degree and Grand Larceny in the third degree. She was released on appearance tickets but allegedly failed to appear in court multiple times, prompting the warrant.

She was eventually located by the Colonie Police Department and turned over to Seneca County authorities. Porter is now being held at the Seneca County Correctional Facility pending arraignment.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
