One man is facing charges in Cayuga County for allegedly using stolen credit information across three states.
According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, Jerome Hightower Jr was arrested and taken into custody Wednesday following an investigation into a January 11 fraud complaint at the Kinney Drugs in Brutus. The Rochester man is accused of using stolen credit card information to purchase lottery tickets and $500 Visa gift cards throughout New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
The Monroe Crime Analysis Center was able to identify him using video footage, leading to his arrest.
Hightower was charged with felony counts of Grand Larceny and Identity Theft.
Following his arraignment on the aforementioned charges, he was released; however, Hightower is being held at the Cayuga County Jail on a Fugitive from Justice Warrant stemming from theft charges out of Pennsylvania.
