Ontario County Sheriff’s Office investigators have arrested a Rochester man in connection with two separate theft investigations.
Authorities say 35-year-old Christian Soto-Ramirez was taken into custody without incident on December 16 at approximately 11:38 a.m. He is charged with third-degree burglary and petit larceny.
Investigators report that the charges stem from incidents that occurred on November 30. In the first case, deputies say Soto-Ramirez stole merchandise valued at $924.99 from Dick’s Sporting Goods at Eastview Mall in the Town of Victor and left the store without paying. He was charged with petit larceny in that case.
In a separate investigation, authorities determined that Soto-Ramirez stole merchandise valued at more than $1,000 from the Canandaigua Lowe’s on Recreation Drive in the Town of Hopewell. Investigators say he had previously been trespassed from all Lowe’s locations, leading to a charge of third-degree burglary.
Soto-Ramirez was located at his workplace and taken into custody. He was transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in CAP Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
