A Rochester man was arrested on a felony charge following a one-car accident on State Route 31 in the town of Lyons.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Matthew Patrick was driving north on Cole Road in the town of Lyons when he allegedly failed to maintain his lane. Patrick drove off the roadway and into the field knocking down a traffic sign. The car continued north down a hill and crossed State Route 31 before it crashed into a ditch.
Police say during their investigation it was found that Patrick was intoxicated. He was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing. A breath sample was secured through the Datamaster and he was found to have a .20% BAC.
Patrifk was charged with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated, felony driving while intoxicated and failing to keep right.
Patrick was sent to Wayne County Jail to await CAP arraignment
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
