A Rochester man was arrested by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office following the investigation into a possible shoplifting complaint by Dicks Sporting Goods asset protection.
During the investigation, it was determined Marvin Gilbert had allegedly stolen from the store on two other dates and was removing security tabs when police arrived.
Gilbert was charged with two counts of petit larceny, and possession of burglary tools, and was issued an appearance ticket for Victor Town Court.
The 40-year-old was also banned from Eastview Mall for life, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
