The Geneva Police Department says a Rochester man has been arrested following an investigation into narcotics sales in the city.
On Tuesday at around 4 p.m., detectives took Shimal Slade into custody on Genesee Street and charged him with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
Police say the arrest followed several weeks of investigation. Slade was allegedly selling narcotics from a residence on Genesee Street and had about $800 on him at the time of his arrest.
He was processed at the Geneva Police Department and arraigned at the Ontario County Jail. Slade was released without bail and is scheduled to appear in Geneva City Court at a later date.
The investigation was assisted by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
