Rochester Man Accused of Giving Ontario County Deputies False Name

SHARE NOW

A Rochester man faces charges in Ontario County after police responded to the Canandaigua Walmart for the report of a man who had been previously banned from Walmart stores.

Sheriff’s Deputies say Christopher Tunney initially provided them with a false name and date of birth before being correctly identified. Walmart declined to press charges but the 48-year-old was charged with false personation. It was also discovered there was an active bench warrant out for Tunney’s arrest for failure to appear in treatment court.

Tunney was later transported to the Ontario County Jail where he was held for central arraignment and awaits a later date to answer to his charges.
