The Cayuga County Clerk-Elect has been ticketed following a hit and run in Owasco Saturday night.
Brian Scanlan was ticketed for leaving the scene of an accident Tuesday morning after confirming to the Sheriff’s Office that he was the driver of the vehicle that struck a parked car on Fairway Drive on the 11th, just days after the election. Sheriff Brian Schenck said the vehicle that was hit was totaled.
Earlier this month, Scanlan, an independent backed by the Democrats, beat Conservative Kristine Lytle and Republican Chris Petrus to succeed the retiring Sue Dwyer as County Clerk.
