Geneva Police say a man well known to officers has been arrested once again, marking his sixth arrest in less than two months for similar crimes.
On Thursday morning, around 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a larceny from a vehicle on John Street. The homeowner told police that a man had entered their car and stolen an iPad along with several other valuable items.
Officers canvassed the area and quickly located a suspect matching the description, later identified as Jonathan Toledo, who was found holding an iPad. A search revealed additional stolen property and narcotics in his possession. Police confirmed the iPad belonged to the John Street homeowner.
Toledo was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree and taken to the Geneva Police Department for processing and arraignment.
Police note this is the sixth time the department has arrested Toledo in less than two months for similar theft-related offenses.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
