The investigation into a motor vehicle accident in the parking lot of the Blue Eagle Tavern in Branchport resulted in the arrest of a Prattsburgh resident.
When Yates County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on the scene, they reported that the driver, Sharon Meyer, displayed several signs of intoxication to them. Meyer refused to take Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was taken into custody.
Meyer was transported to the Yates County Safety Building for the purpose of a chemical test. She was charged with Felony DWI, Felony Aggravated DWI with a .18 BAC or greater, and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
Meyer was released on an appearance ticket.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
