A Port Byron woman was arrested by the Seneca Falls Police Department under Leandra’s Law.
Candice Waugh was involved in a one-car accident property damage accident at around 10:30 Friday night. Police determined the 38-year-old Waugh was allegedly driving while intoxicated with a one-year-old child in the car. In addition to the Leandra’s Law charge for driving intoxicated with a person under the age of 16 in the car, Waugh was also charged with Common Law DWI, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of 0.08% or higher, failure to use a designated lane and endangering the welfare of a child.
The child was turned over to family members at the scene and Waugh was taken to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
