A larceny complaint at a hardware store in the village of Weedsport resulted in the arrest of a Port Byron woman.
During their investigation, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office determined Sasha Binns entered the store placed a power tool in her purse and then proceeded to exit the store without paying. Deputies obtained an arrest warrant for Binns charging her with petit larceny.
On November 21st, Deputies located Binns at her Church Street apartment and placed her in custody for the arrest warrant.
Binns was released to appear in Weedsport Village Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
