Police say a Waterloo man took off on foot as they attempted to conduct Standardized Field Sobriety Tests on him following a traffic stop in Seneca Falls.
After being ordered to stay in his car, Matthew Garneau allegedly took off running. He was taken into custody and charged with obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest. A further investigation turned up several items of drug paraphernalia in the car. Coupled with positive drug screen tests, Garneau was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminally using drug paraphernalia.
The 23-year-old Garneau was released on an appearance ticket for Seneca Falls Town Court.
