A Steuben County woman is accused of stealing over $100,000 from her former employer.
In June, Deborah McClellan was fired after her employer claimed she fraudulently used her company-issued fuel car. During its investigation, the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office determined the 51-year-old Addison woman made fraudulent purchases from Lowe’s, Ron’s Service Center, Youngs Tires, Ferrario Ford, and Amazon using the Elmira Structures business account. When all was said and done, the purchases totaled over $108,000.
McClellan was charged with felony grand larceny and has been ordered to appear in Big Flats Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
