A traffic stop in the village of Penn Yan resulted in the arrest of a Penn Yan woman on charges of DWI, Aggravated DWI, and two counts of failure to keep right.
Karen Keech was reportedly observed by police driving erratically in the oncoming lane of both Walnut and Clinton Streets. A traffic stop was conducted and police observed several indicators of intoxication from Keech, who was placed through standardized field sobriety tests, which she failed. Keech was taken into custody and transported to the Yates County Public Safety Building where she submitted to a chemical breath test, which revealed her blood alcohol content to be .20%.
Keech was released on appearance tickets for Penn Yan Village Court.
