Police: Penn Yan Woman Stole Donated Cans and Bottles

The investigation into a complaint that a person who stole cans and bottles from a drop-off site within the village of Penn Yan resulted in the arrest of a Penn Yan woman.

Carrie Schultz was later found in possession of two stolen garbage bags filled with bottles as she allegedly attempted to return them to receive the deposit.

Schultz was brought to the Penn Yan Police Department for processing on a complaint of criminal possession of stolen property.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
