Police arrested an Ithaca man after he allegedly pulled out a knife to steal food from a restaurant in the 400 block of East State Street.
In addition to allegedly stealing the food, Ira Bingham was reportedly involved in a confrontation in the parking lot of the business with an uninvolved individual. That person suffered minor injuries as a result.
Police took Bingham into custody and charged him with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies, as well as misdemeanor menacing.
Following arraignment, Bingham was sent to Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
