Police: Lyons Woman Allowed Another Person to Use SNAP Benefits Card

SHARE NOW

The investigation into a fraud complaint in the town of Lyons on Monday resulted in the arrest of a Lyons woman by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

It is alleged that Susan Hurd, who was a recipient of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, allowed another person to use her benefits card in the amount of $117.32, which law enforcement says violates the agreement.

Hurd was charged with petit larceny and misuse of food stamps. She was released on an appearance ticket for Lyons Town Court.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
