A Penn Yan mom faces charges of endangering the welfare of a child after she allegedly left her six-year-old child unattended for an extended period.
Tabitha Stevens was charged after Penn Yan Police responded to a complaint of a person running around the parking lot of an apartment complex screaming. Upon arrival, officers found an intoxicated Stevens running around the parking lot.
Stevens was brought to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital for treatment and the six-year-old was turned over to a family friend.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
