Police: Himrod Man Made Threats to Burn Down Yates County Office Building

A Himrod man has been charged with making a threat of mass harm following an investigation by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.

It is alleged that 26-year-old Jayden Heitmann made threats to burn down the Yates County Office Building in Penn Yan and physically harm county employees. Heitmann was also charged with two counts of harassment.

Heitmann was released to appear in Milo Town Court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
