A Bath man is facing felony child pornography charges after State Police received a Cyber Tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reporting the possession of child abuse material.
On May 15th, State Police seized numerous electronic devices belonging to 54-year-old Ralph Hicks as part of an ongoing child exploitation investigation. One week later, the Computer Crimes Unit advised investigators that a forensic analysis of Hicks’ laptop uncovered approximately 1,500 images of confirmed child sexual abuse material.
Hicks was arrested on felony charges of promoting and possessing a sexual performance by a child.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
