A disturbing story out of Steuben County and the village of Bath involving a father and his young daughter. We learned over the weekend that 31-year-old Deven Miller, of Bath, was arrested on multiple serious charges following a lengthy investigation. The police department launched an investigation after it received a report alleging that Miller was attempting to prostitute his 7-year-old daughter in exchange for methamphetamine.
Miller now faces charges including Criminal Solicitation in the 3rd Degree, a Class E felony; Promoting Prostitution in the 1st Degree, a Class B felony; and Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance, a Class C felony.
He was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for arraignment and remains held without bail.
Officials confirmed that Miller does not have custody of his daughter, who was thankfully not victimized during this incident.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
