An Auburn man is facing multiple felonies after an attack with a baseball bat on Tuesday.

According to police, officers responded to a Van Anden Street home after a man called 911 with yelling in the background. Upon arrival, police met with multiple occupants. The officers learned that Michael Lucas forced his way into the victim’s bedroom by breaking down the door, threatened their life, and attempted to hit the victim with a baseball bat. During the altercation, Lucas damaged the victim’s TV.

Lucas was charged with Attempted Assault, Criminal Mischief, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon, all felonies. He was then taken to the Cayuga County Jail for arraignment, where an order of protection was issued, and he was released.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
