Police Arrest Ithaca Man Accused of Attempted Burglaries, Committing Lewd Acts

Ithaca Police believe they have arrested the man who allegedly engaged in a lewd sexual act while standing outside of the homes of two college-aged women earlier this month.

32-year-old Floyd Slater, Junior, was located at his Slaterville Road residence in the town of Ithaca. The search warrant resulted from the investigation by the Ithaca Police Department and the New York State Police for the crimes of Attempted Burglary, Exposure of a person, Menacing, and Public Lewdness. The attempted burglary and exposure of a person incident occurred on September 5th, on University Avenue and Delaware Avenue in the City of Ithaca.

The Ithaca Police Department arrested Slater and charged him with Attempted Burglary and Exposure of a Person. Slater, who was on New York State Parole, was processed and turned over to the New York State Police to be processed on their charges of Attempted Sex Abuse, Menacing, and Public Lewdness.

Slater was taken to Tompkins County CAP Court, where he was arraigned and held without bail.

Cornell University Police Department and the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision assisted in this investigation.
